Gentle Dental Care Dentistry
Choosing a dentist is an important part of regular health care. Not only is it important to have our teeth cleaned and x-rayed regularly, but we may also be concerned with having a dentist that makes us feel comfortable with all facets of our dental care. If we are comfortable, then it will be more pleasant to take care of our teeth on a regular basis. With his reputation as the “Gentle Dental Care” Dentist, Dr. Chang meets those needs.
Becoming a Dentist
Dr. Chang is a Southern California Native. Born in Calexico and raised in Eagle Rock, He became intrigued with science during high school, particularly biology. Combined with an interest in building model airplanes, ships, and cars, it is easy to see how Dr. Chang was a natural to become a dentist. When attending UCLA and volunteering at the dental school, Dr. Chang describes his classes and lab work as immensely enjoyable, further cementing his interest in dentistry as a career.Dr. Chang’s undergraduate degree is in microbiology from UCLA in 1982. He completed his DDS degree at USC School of dentistry in 1986.
Patient Comfort
It is very important to note that as part of gentle dental care, Dr. Chang completed post-graduate training in Periodontal Laser Therapy (LANAP). FDA approved in 2004, the LANAP treatment is a no cutting/suturing, regenerative procedure with greatly reduced post-op pain and down-time for the patient. Dr. Chang is one of the few dentists in the area to offer this method for treating periodontal disease (gum disease).

Dr. Chang’s Mission
Dr Chang’s mission is to provide excellent state of the art quality dental care in a warm, friendly and gentle environment. He believes in seeing patients on time and having each appointment completed in a reasonable amount of time. Safety and cleanliness are always a priority.
Staff
Dr. Chang’s has a loyal and helpful staff who have been working together in his practice for up to fifteen years.
Rachel is the receptionist. She can make appointments for you and answer questions or refer you to someone who can help. Maria, the office manager and Yvonne, the assistant manager, can help you with insurance or financing questions. Lydia is Dr. Chang's assistant. Dr. Chang’s staff is concerned about the details that matter to you, as the patient. Whether you have questions about dental care or need financing solutions, the staff is always happy to help you find the answers.
Dr. Chang’s practice focuses on building relationships with patients; they watch families as they change and grow, and the kids grow up and return over and over. This loyalty is built by competent professionalism and genuine compassion for your needs.
